This lovely lady holds a very special place in my heart for various reasons.
- She’s one of my brother’s closest friends. Close enough that they went trapezing together to celebrate a friend’s birthday. And I don’t know about you, but trapezing scares the bejesus out of me, and I wouldn’t go trapezing with just about anyone. If I want to look terrified swinging in midair and possibly look ridiculous after falling out of one of those contraptions, I want to do all of my trapezing with someone who is close to me.
- She agreed to spend some time with me on a random weekend last fall while I practiced using my studio lighting setups on her. And she was such a great sport about it.
- She has a heart of gold. What other reasons do I need?
Needless to say, I was really excited and happy for her when I found out she was getting married. She’s hoping to have a wedding ceremony with her family in China, but she wanted to get married ahead of time in the City. They had a simple, quiet wedding day and wanted to commemorate the occasion by doing a set of engagement photos in one of my favorite spots: Dumbo, Brooklyn. They were both so sweet, and watching them interact with each other and have so much fun just made me smile.
Here are some of the images from their session.
